What’s up! My name is Helen Yeung, I’m a rising senior currently attending Baccalaureate School for Global Education. I grew up in Queens, NY, for my whole life, and to be honest, after somewhat learning Spanish in middle school, I still haven’t learned much, so I’ll need some assistance.
A fun fact about me is that I have a Cantonese last name, but both my parents were born in Fuzhou, China, so I’m fully Fuzhounese. However, my dad moved to Hong Kong a little later, so does that count? I know how to speak basic Mandarin, Cantonese (dialect), and Fuzhounese (dialect). I’ve been collecting Sonny Angels and Smiskis for a while now, even before it got so popular. I love arts & crafts, badminton, baking, and cooking, but on most days I’m a HUGE binge watcher and love taking pictures when hanging out (friends AND food).
I usually portray myself as an extroverted introvert, so I could come off kind of quiet at first but then I’ll love to yap! I’m always open to improvisation; I believe there’s always a solution to a problem, even if it involves some minor and last-minute changes. I’m going to Constanza, DR, in about a week (08/11) and I can’t wait to meet everyone and build new friendships!
