Day 9 – CAP Day 3 (La Final)

Hola Hola to all our families and friends reading this. This is Adriel, Christopher, and Octavio (the new 17 year old).

Today we had wake up call at 6:30 AM for an early breakfast of scrambled eggs, pancakes and strawberry juice; jugo de fresa, to give us some energy to power through the day.

We got to the school where we worked like a well oiled machine to complete all of our murals.

Not only was it a teary eyed goodbye to the school Felicia Castillero de Moricillo and the wonderful staff and students but also a farewell filled with certificates, speeches, brindis, and dancing.

We got back to the hotel just in time for lunch at 12:00 PM, which was rice and chicken and a side salad.

After that delicious meal we had a self reflection based on the CAP project where we explored how it changed us, how we think it impacted the school, what we learned about ourselves and our teams from it.

We then took a short walk out of the hotel to a dance studio run by the amazing Antonio. We then spent the next hour learning salsa and bachata dances, ending the class with a couple of us doing free style dances.

When we returned to the hotel, we got an hour of free time, which many of us took advantage of and explored Chitré one last time.

After decompressing and washing up we made our preparations for a dinner outside the hotel. We made a 5 minute walk to resturante El Azteca. Some of us enjoyed beef or chicken tacos and others enjoyed a plate of chicken nachos. Every flavor was very unique.

Once Dinner ended we made it back to the hotel and held our final nightly meeting in Chitré. The rising leadres del dia were Joselyn and Violeta who shared a talent of bracelet making using a water bottle! Everyone was invested and excited to partake in their talent.

Don’t forget to leave comments for our second to last blog post of this trip! Thank you to those who have been leaving comments 🙂

P.S HI mother and Father. I am alive. 😀 But you didn’t write any comments. D: But love you both and see you soon! – Christopher
