Hello Glimpsers!
My name is Analisa Davis (she/her/hers), and I am an AP Environmental Science teacher at Coney Island Prep High School. I am the other one of the two wonderful Global Glimpse leaders joining you on your trip to Costa Rica. I am so excited to be joining you on your trip which is just a few weeks away!

I’ve had a love for travel and the outdoors for my entire life, and I am particularly excited to learn and grow in Costa Rica too. Though I’ve lived in New York for five years now, I am originally from California. Growing up in such a beautiful and ecologically diverse place instilled a deep gratification for and love of the natural world. I ended up going to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) pursuing my B.A. in International Development Studies and minoring in Environmental Studies. I’ve had the opportunity to see so any wonderful parts of the world, from Belize to Australia to Taiwan, and I can’t wait to continue on another journey.
In New York, I’ve been teaching the whole time I’ve been here. I started in Algebra 1, then took on Geometry, and now have made the jump to APES–I definitely love STEM, but I also enjoy reading and learning about history, as well as other social sciences. I coached the volleyball team at my school for 2 years and played soccer for 7 years when I was your age, and still have a lot of love for watching and playing sports–though it’s been a while. I love puzzles and games, but can get quite competitive! I’m excited to learn more about you in the next few weeks, and I know that in the wide ranges of our interests we are bound to find something in common or something to teach each other about!

You’ll be hearing from myself our other trip leader, Pierre, in the next few weeks for check ins, updates, and a little bit more getting to know each other. I know this experience will be transformative for us all–I can’t wait to share it with y’all!
Big Love,
Analisa
