FUN DAY- ENVIronmental JUSTICE

Today, we woke up at 7 am and had breakfast at 8 AM. We had sausage, eggs, banana bread, and toast.

We then started to make our way to the waterfall called Las Trillizas. We had to hike about 20 minutes to get there and it was kind of scary. Once we got there we were met with a beautiful view of the waterfall. Some of us were contemplating on getting in, but we all eventually got in (it was freezing). It then started to rain so we had to leave early and hike back up.

As we returned from the waterfall we went to a restuarant to have some very delicious food. We all had different thing such as rice and beans, mixed chicken and rice, and grilled chicken tenders. Then we all took a group photo before we left.

When we got back we had a guest speaker who came to speak to us about environmental justice and his name was Fofo. He taught us about the negative impact of increasing tourism in costa rica. Then we had two hours of downtime so some of us went to La Pulperia and others stayed back to journal or rest.

At 6:00 pm we had dinner which was salad with our choice of toppings and tamarind juice. After that we had our nightly meeting where we then passed the torch to the next leaders of the day. At 8:30 pm we had karaoke which was really fun and exciting. Finally we set off to bed.
