Fun Day and Beach Time!

Hola family and friends,

Today was our fun day, day 8 of our trip was definitely one for the books. As group leaders, Kayla and Aaliyah were in charge of keeping everyone safe and on schedule at a beautiful restaurant with breathtaking ocean views, huts, and a gorgeous pool. Starting off the day with a 630am wake up call for a delicious breakfast that consists of a Passionfruit Agua fresca, fried plantains, cheese, and sausage with vegetables. With this amazing breakfast as our fuel we loaded up the bus and made our way to the playa(beach),singing karaoke the ENTIRE ride.

After arriving at the (playa) beach. We all were immediately excited to get into the water. We started our activities by playing Marco Polo in the pool and bonding with one another to get to know each other better and spend more quality time with each other. After the pool we rushed down to enjoy the beautiful beach while collecting seashells on the way. Although the sand was really really hot, the cool, salty, and freshwater felt really good and put a smile on everyone’s face. It was also the first time a lot of us stepped into the Pacific Ocean! Once we were done having fun in the water, we decided to start another activity and play beach volleyball. Beach volleyball made us really come together as a group and made us forget about not having our phones. We then headed back to the pool and sat on the benches for lunch. 

For lunch we had chicken fingers with fries, a side salad, and an Arnold Palmer for our drinks. Even Though, the fries and the side salad were really good, the chicken fingers weren’t really that great, but we still were able to enjoy our day.The Arnold Palmer drink was our favorite part of lunch. After lunch, we waited a while before we got back into the pool. Then we chilled out at the pool for a while and went back to the beach to feel the cool ocean breeze one last time before heading back to the bus on the way to the hotel. 

On the ride home we HAD to have a music change and went from 2000s pop to prime Beyonce. When we arrived at the hotel, everyone began to shower and group up for our free time out. As we shopped and splurged we continued to watch the clock to be back at the hotel at 630 pm for our dinner. For dinner we had Macaroni Tuna salad, a salad that consisted of cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes and for our drink a refreshing strawberry juice that we LOVED. The tuna salad was not a fan favorite but was loved by a few. As we wrapped up our dinner we went into our nightly meeting and talked about the wonderful day that we had at the beach. As we reached the end of our meeting we were able to talk about our question and quote of the day with the group and express their opinions and thoughts.
