Today’s leaders of the day are Saramia, Treisy, and Emily!
We started off CAP (Community Action Project) Day 2 strong with a delicious breakfast of an omelette which contained ham, tomatoes, onion, and cheese with a side of fruit salad. Following 8:30am we hosted the mental warmup by introducing the agenda of the day. Our goal was to finish our progress that we began yesterday. Around 8:45am, we started our hike up the hill towards where we left off digging. We knew these next 3 hours were not going to be easy, yet we were commited to acheiving our goal!

Since it was day 2 of CAP we continued where we left off. Digging in the trenches, we took our time to make sure things got done. The main objectives were adding more depth, widening the trenches and getting rid of huge rocks that got in our way. Everyone was workig hard, and as leaders of the day we made the effort to make constant reminders to stay hydrated and to take breaks.
After a few hours of hard work, we headed back down towards the lodge to enjoy lunch. Today’s lunch consisted of Cantonise rice with steamed vegetables and a refreshing drink of Papaya and Pineapple. When lunch time was over, we headed back to work. Unfortunately, during the last stages of our project, we got caught in the pouring rain. Our group stayed determined to keep energy levels up despite the weather conditions.

We ended up finishing our CAP day 2 successfully by covering up the pipe using leftover dirt.

We are so proud of how far our group has come and how everyone continued to stay motivated throughout this ardorous job. As Eduardo Galeano once said, “Many little people, in little places, doing little things, can change the world.”

Big Love,
Saramia, Emily, and Treisy
