Day 10: Closing reflection Day
Student Trip Blog
We started our first adventure in the Dominican Republican by taking a tour of the city of Constanza! We stopped to look at historical figures, the military base, the Municipal of Constanza, the firefighter department, and a gazebo. Fun fact, you can be a volunteer at the fire department at 9 years old. Also, when we were walking past the military base, we noticed that most of the men were young.
When we returned back to the hotel, there were a lot of bonding between the glimpsers. We decided to put all the tables together to eat our lunch altogether.
After, during our free time we played song association, charades, tag, manhunt and played in the playground.
Everyone had a lot of fun with each other and learned something new about each other. The feeling of community and friendship is definitely growing in the group. For example, at our nightly meeting we end the meeting with “BIG LOVE” where we share shout-outs to recognize the kind actions and accomplishments of others throughout the day. We ended our nightly meeting with lots of big loves!

So many photos! It sounds like a fantastic day and a great group. It’s in the mid-80s here, but I get a sense that your weather is beautiful. So interesting that you are playing song-association games—I wonder whose idea that was.

I love this! This blog is such a great way to keep all the students connected with their long distance family and friends, even when they are fully immersed in the country around them. No phones, No wifi, and no way to contact their peers on their own. This opportunity is such a great way for them to learn about new cultures, and people. I love that the children appear to be having such a great time, while learning such valuable life lessons. The fire station looks so educational for the students. Not only does this program allow for students to learn, it also allows them to have fun. My Niece Lia can be seen on the playground, sitting in a merry go round. So glad to see that she is having so much fun there. Thank you to the global glimpse community for giving her such a great opportunity!
