CLOSING REFLECTION/tRAVEL TO sAN jOSE

Hi, This is the 10th day LDDs Zach and Diego.

Today’s morning was very busy as we moved all our luggage to the bus and did our last minute packing. It was very chaotic but we made it on time. Our breakfast was beans, fruits, sausages, and empanadas. It was one of my favorite breakfasts and I’m glad it was saved for our last. It was sad to know that this was my last breakfast at the base house and I made sure I held onto every bite and conversation over breakfast. I know that this breakfast will be one I remember not just because it was the last.

After breakfast we had a final reflection seminar where we all sat all together and talked about all the things we loved about this trip. This seminar had many fun and exciting activities. For instance, we all went around the room writing things we want to continue, start, and stop doing. This made us deeply reflect on what we can take away besides memories from this amazing trip. We had other memorable games like one where everyone would write for 30 seconds about another Glimpser until everyone had a page of kind a caring things others have said about them. The seminar ended with everyone sharing their thoughts on the trip. It was a very fitting end and everyone’s statement was very moving and beautiful. After the long reflection everyone was extremely hungry and we got a lunch that truly felt special. Every table was adorned with a large white table cloth. Large pork chops where brought our and everyone was stuffed after.

During the bus ride, we all felt so sad knowing this was the second last day to be with each other. Everyone was so happy and talking during the bus knowing this is not going to be tomorrow. Once we arrived at the souvenir shop we all went to go look for things for our family or ourselves. We all enjoyed buying things for the trip and things we can remember from this trip. Once we all finished shopping we went back on the bus and headed to the hotel in San Jose.

When we arrived at the hotel everyone was so excited because this hotel was very different than the cabins. Everyone settled in their room and started to explore the hotel. The hotel includes a pool, a gym, and a restaurant. Everyone decided to go back to their room until we left for dinner. Once it was time we all gathered in the lobby for a head count to make sure everyone was here. After everyone was clear we all headed to the restaurant with the bus. Once we arrived we all walked to the restaurant to go and get a seat before we got out food. After everyone was settled in we all enjoyed the food we ordered. Once we finished our food we got dessert which was a cake with ice cream on top. Soon we all finished we headed to the bus to head back to the hotel. After we arrived we finished with our last nightly meeting with big love and answering the question of the day. This moment made everyone’s day by knowing we had a great time with these meetings and knowing this was the very last one.

This trip has been so inspiring and will leave with memories that will last me the rest my life. I cant wait to get back home and meet with the glimpsers I have made friends with.
