Hello, parents~
Today your blog is being written by Emilio, Solar, and Liam, who’s crying because his name didn’t come first.
Today we woke up at 6 am before everybody else, and gently tapped on everyone’s doors to let them know it was time to wake up. After breakfast, we started our first day of work on our project. We started by clearing out an overgrown garden full of weeds, etc. Then we proceeded to work for a few hours in the blistering and painful heat, getting drenched in sweat, mud, and countless tears. We then went back to the casa for a much-needed lunch break. We ate rice, pork, and plantains. It was the best meal we have ever tasted. After this glorious meal, we traveled back to the school to resume our demanding labor. Once we finished our amazing and well-built garden, we then played basketball and soccer where Liam’s and Emilio’s team suffered a tragic loss to Las Chicas, despite liam’s best efforts.

We then attempted to get ice cream, but unfortunately, a crowd of hundreds of people all had the same idea at the same time. We shouted to the Gods because we were so in anguish about the lack of ice cream, and once again went back to the casa. While writing some thank you notes for Global Glimpse donors, we were surprised with ice cream bars. Our prayers to the Gods were answered! Before we could get too comfortable, Liam kicked the soccer ball over the neighbor’s fence, where an aggressive hound was waiting to attack. We won’t be playing soccer tomorrow.

After a nightly meeting full of confusing talents and mischievous activities, we sat down to type this blog. We started it by saying, Hello parents. Then we introduced ourselves and Liam cried. We would keep writing, but we need to go and comfort poor Liam. We hope you have all enjoyed reading this blog and know that we miss you all back in Chicago. Please write back, or maybe send us a new soccer ball. Please! For Liam!

Hasta luego, Solar, Emilio, and poor Liam,
