Welcome&History

This morning, we started our adventure with our first breakfast in the Dominican Republic, featuring scrambled eggs, bread, orange juice, cereal, and jelly.Right after breakfast, we attended our second seminar focused on culture and safety before heading to Jarabacoa town. Along the way, we enjoyed some music and spent the morning learning about the town’s rich history. We also had the opportunity to meet the dedicated structural firefighters of Jarabacoa, who shared insights into their daily efforts to ensure safety and prevent emergencies in this ecotourism capital. After the tour, we returned to our accommodation at Centro Pastoral La Salle, where we indulged in a delicious Bandera, the national dish of the Dominican Republic (comprising white rice, beans, and chicken). After lunch, we had some free time before regrouping for our final seminar of the day, which centered around our community action project (CAP 1).We then ventured back into town to spend the afternoon shopping and exploring. We also tried the local homemade cream from Doña Ivon, a delightful treat from Jarabacoa.Around 5 PM, we returned for some leisure time before dinner. After enjoying our meal, we held our nightly meeting, where we introduced the first Leaders of the Day for the week.Thank you for reading! Stay tuned!
