Welcome To Jarabacoa The land of the eternal Spring

Hey everyone!
We’re Dani and Pedro—your Program Coordinators here in the beautiful town of Jarabacoa!
I’m Dani, originally from Argentina, and this is my very first time in the Dominican Republic—and also my first summer with Global Glimpse! I’ve spent the past month exploring all the incredible places we’ll get to know together, including the sites for our Community Action Project (they’re amazing, but I won’t spoil too much!). The people here are incredibly kind, and even though we’re far from the beach, the mountains make this place feel like a dream. Before this, I worked with NGOs back home, and I’ve been traveling and living in different parts of the world for the past nine years. I’m passionate about learning from other cultures, connecting with people, and sharing meaningful experiences—so I couldn’t be more excited to start this journey with all of you.

And I’m Pedro—Dominican to the core, but with a little twist! I was born and raised in Santo Domingo, and since I was 18, I’ve lived and studied in Taiwan, Mexico, Brazil, and the U.S. I wear a lot of hats—researcher, educator, policy nerd, and lifelong student. I recently finished my Master’s in Latin American Studies and will be starting my Ph.D. in Sociology at Brown this fall. I’ve been leading student programs since 2018, and after three years away, I’m thrilled to be back in the DR—and especially here in Jarabacoa. This is my first year with Global Glimpse, and I joined because I truly believe that service, intercultural learning, and travel are powerful ways to grow empathy, resilience, and perspective.
We’re both so excited to get to know each of you, learn together, laugh together, and create something meaningful this summer.

Let’s make it unforgettable!
