welcome to costa rica!!

The group finally arrived to te most beutiful country in the world…Costa Rica.

Today we traveled from Alajuela to Turriaba, driving fisrt throug San Jose (the capital) and then Cartago. The scenary evolved from a small busy city to the clean coutry side. We stopped in Juan Vinas, where the sugar cane cover most of the area and then we descet to Turrialba, also famous for its sugar cane plantations but also for its coffee and chesse.

We visited the farmers market, a tradition in Costa Rica since the 70s which stated in san js end then was spreaded to the rest of the country and is known as “las ventas” or “la feria”. We had the chance to see all type of fruits and vegetables, hand made craft, cooffe, coconut water, coconut caramel and oil, fishes (alive) and even a lady gave us a bunch of bananas for free. Also we saw a few iguanas eating some papaya.

After this stop we drove towards the north of Turrialba, to a place called San Rafael, which belongs to Santa Cruz district, very famous in the country for its artesanal chesse. The base house is very nice with a lot of space and a lot of gardens and 3 dogs and a cat…also we spot a toucan and maybe we cn see the 2 sloths which leaves around.

we had a very nice lunch

We had a very nice lunch called “casado”, this one has rice, beans, fried plantain, salad and chicken, and for dinner pumpkin soup with white rice and plantain chips.

Now some of us we’re watching the game argentina suiterland, or plaing cards and ping pong. Soon we’ll be sleeping after a long day…..pura vida and good nigth
