Welcome & Panama Canal

Hi Everyone,

We are the LLD´s of the day, GGL Jason and GGL Nikki. Today we woke up super early to make our journey to Chitre. But first we got the chance to stop at the Panama Canal. Here we were able to view the canal and watch a documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman.

Next, we made our journey onward to Chitre. It was a five-hour drive. We listened to music and slept for most of it. We made a pit stop for lunch on the way. We had some really good burgers and fried chicken, saw some dogs and played on a small payground.

Once we arrived in Chitre, we were impressed by what this town has to offer. Our accommodation is a nice boutique hotel in the middle of downtown. We completed our first seminars, welcome & orientation, on the beautiful gazebo across the street from our hotel.

I´m amazing that a lady engineer was included to be part of the team to design the Panama Canal. It showed that they support women voices and diversities. I was surprised to know that it is just water pressure that can rise and lower these hug cargo ships to meet the sea level as they cross the canal.
