Viajar a Panamá ~ Jeremy

Hello Glimpsers!

My name is Jeremy Soto and I’m a Community School Director with El Puente Academy for Peace and Justice! I’m excited to join you in this year’s trip to Las Tablas, Panamá.

I wanted to give you all the opportunity to get to know me, and here it goes! I’m a life long New Yorker, born and raised in the Lower East Side. I have been working in education for the past 4 years, specializing in youth leadership, community organizing and social justice. My interests in this work involves integrating community members as an important decision maker when we discuss educational equity, public safety and much more!

Outside of my professional life, I’m a avid runner (I’ve ran the half marathon and have my sights on a marathon), book lover, and a huge Yankee and Knicks fan (Let’s Go Knicks!). But what I love the most is travel, and so, I’m excited for you all to experience the world outside of your communities and what it can teach you! So as the saying goes:

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Pa’lante!

~Jeremy
