Day 10 – Final Reflection

LDD’s, Mylee and Natalie, for CAP Day 2 signing on!! Today was an incredibly eventful day!! Wake up was early for the whole group but as LLD’s our alarm was set to 5 am as the earliest wakeup of the whole trip! Now this may seem tiring but we were able to catch the sunrise on the hotel’s terrace and have heartfelt conversations with our friends!
Work was set to start early today! In order to avoid the blazing rays of the sun during reforestation we needed to be on the road as early as possible, 6:20 AM😴.We settled for breakfast to go and had a quiet trip to the site since EVERYONE was tired from our hard work the day before. On the way we saw so many animals and small neighborhoods that everyone admired.
Around 7:20 we arrived to this beautiful ranch with such a variety of things! We saw at least 3 different dogs where everyone audibly said “AWWW” when they saw them. There was also a pond full of ducks right next to this house with a stunning brick design that looked straight out of the history books. From there we had to walk up and incredibly steep hill full of rocks and other obstacles to get to our reforestation site. When we got there none of us expected to be planting trees on the side of a hill!!
Compared to the big group yesterday, we only had 17 people doing reforestation and we were able to plant 700 trees with 2 hours to spareee. 🔥
On the way back, everyone was sooo tried. When arriving at our on-site lunch, we collectively agreed to get lunch to go because it was muy caliente! While waiting for the lunch to be packaged to go the whole group had a sing along to “we don’t talk about Bruno” and it’s safe to say that only 2 of us in the group can actually sing lol. After a collection of group naps and conversations about the grueling yet enjoyable day we had, we made it back to the hotel with SOOO MUCH FREETIME!! With our free time the only sensible thing to do was to get Dairy Queen!!! So step by step we took a short walk over to the Dairy Queen to get the sweet taste of their famous cones and blizzards. We personally got waffle cone blizzards with M&M’s and Oreo’s! Hands down the perfect treat for a day of what felt like over 100 degree’s!
After coming back, because we only have a few days left of this trip, thought it was about time to show our supporters some love by writing them a letter of appreciation. Each one was carefully thought out!!
To wind down we had some group bonding time and finished our day off with Tacos of both beef and chicken for dinner!
Collectively we are sad that we are nearing the end of our trip but we are determined to make the most of our last 3 days! Thank you guys for checking in and Chitre 1D is excited to make our final call home tomorrow!! We loved being LDD’s for the day and are ready to pass on the role of leadership to the runner up’s! See Ya!!

I’m sure you are person 1 of the 3 people that can actually sing lol. You know that’s my song! Unless you’re not displaying your talents which I can’t really see…🤔 Anyway, 700 trees is outstanding! Stay hydrated and make sure you are wearing your hat, the heat is no joke!
On another note, I forgot to mention it yesterday, Persia has been trying to teach you, I told Trish where you are and what you’re doing and she thinks it’s amazing. I miss you my baby🥰 I love you with extra peanut butter and jelly on top 😘😘😘😘 See you soon!!

I cannot wait to hear how this trip went, and I am keeping up with your streaks (just sent it for the day, like I always do perioddddd!) Just felt like you needed to know that. I hope that this is the start of many more trips for you because one of the best things to do is to be curious about the world around us. Keep that curiosity alive within you! And never stop travelling/ going on trips.
