THE WORK BEGINS!!! (Community action project day 1)

Hola mi gente!!! This is Brianna, Tashi and Sofia on the blog 😛 ! Today we started our community project in Borrala, Panama. We talked with the community to see what they needed and wanted for their community.

They wanted their benches at the casa local refurnished, the painting for the eco benches at the bus stop done, and a mural for their bus stop as well. After careful planning yesterday, we all worked on some designs for the painting and created some beautiful designs for the benches!

The team working on the benches for casa local also planned with the community delegation leaders to create an efficient plan for how they would refurnish the benches.

Then we woke up early in the morning and got straight to work! We all worked super hard and consistently with great teamwork and care and communication. The support team bought the materials and the supplies we needed before we headed to the work site. We got to the work site on time and everyone jumped straight to work.

Everyone worked very fast and efficiently from 10:30 AM till 3:30 PM, with a one hour break for lunch. The support team was fantastic today and extremely helpful starting with Yahaira, Samarah, Ryan, Daria ) (also Khondi for helping even though he wasnt on the support team).

Also, the kids in the Borrola community were super sweet and excited to help.We had a lot of bonding with kids there even if there were some language barriers LOL.

SO then we head back to the hotel and took good and very well needed showers!! Some of us went to explore the shops around the hotel and restaurants. The groups headed back to the hotel after buying food from mcdonalds and had their dinners in the hallway (since we cant be in each others rooms T-T ).

Then the groups had our official dinner and nightly meeting for the day!! During the meeting, the leaders of the day for tomorrow presented their fun talents!!

Cinnamoroll (a.k.a JC VIII) is having a lot of fun with me on this trip. I cant wait to tell all you about everything ASAP!!
