Hello friends and family,
The leaders for today, our last day at “The Villa”, are Ailanie, Arlene, and Anthony. To start our day, we had breakfast which consisted of empanadas of chicken, ham and cheese, or vegetables alongside leftovers from yesterday’s dinner.
This fulfilling breakfast was crucial in fueling us for the 3-hour seminar, during which we reflected on our journey in the Dominican Republic. We self-reflected on the leaders we became and shared affirmations with one another to understand the people we truly became. After this uplifting seminar, our final lunch at The Villa was shared with our fellow cooks and cleaners, as we wanted to spend our last day with those who had supported us during our time here. Shortly after, we headed to the Baiguate Waterfall, with a height of 37 meters! Our global glimpsers enjoyed cooling off under the waterfall and quickly dried off from the beaming sun. Once arriving back at The Villa, the group rushed to their rooms in preparation for dinner. Instead of having it back at the rancho, we were surprised with “a mountain of flavor” at Pizza & Pepperoni, in which we all devoured the delicious pizza provided by the staff. To end the dinner, two of our global glimpsers, Abby and Ailanie, were celebrated for their upcoming birthdays with a yummy chocolate cake. After everyone shared a slice, we headed back to the rancho to host our final nightly meeting. Here we shared our final thoughts and gave our Big Love to everyone for such a memorable stay here in Jarabacoa. As we currently pack our belongings away, we look back on all the memories made during our trips to the communities, the school, and even those last-minute snack runs. We couldn’t be more grateful for our last day in the DR, especially sharing it with people and staff we love.
P.S. Hola ama y apa. Los extraño mucho y les quiero agradecer por darme esta oportunidad! Los veo en 23 horas 🙂 -Ailanie Zendejas
P.S. Hey guys, I miss you all and am excited to be back. I can’t wait for Wingstop!!! -Arlene
P.S. Hola pa y ma! Los amo mucho, nos vemos pronto, no me dejen en el aeropuerto. -Anthony Alarcon
