The End And The Beginning

We woke up at around 6:30 this morning to wake up Juana for her birthday. We had breakfast and it was good as always. After our breakfast, we had a big talk to refocus the group on the task we had at hand to finish our CAP project. We got to the school and was given our task of getting the rest of the dirt, putting it in a pile of fertilizer, and giving it a good mix.

We also had another group painting a mural of a marañón tree which we also took inspiration from the kids at the school. They wanted two big footprints with a message to always remember that the path they take will always leave a green trail behind. This connects with the tree because as they said, what you do for your community can impact your future pathway. The message left a strong impression on us.

After we completed our CAP project, we had our nightly meeting. Our next leaders of the day preformed an impressive dance and we passed the torch to Nathan (shown below with his fans) and Infinity.

After our CAP project was done, we felt proud because we exceeded our original plan of setting the foundation of the tree nursury. Instead, not only did we paint a mural, we also started nuturing new trees seeds to be planted. In the grand scheme of things, we helped out a community to have more resources and fruits to sell, and created a sutainable, reusable, and profitable outcome for the school.

But, at this point in the trip we are all excited to go home and be with our families. We have loved this adventure and all the good outcome that is coming from it, but our time is almost up!
