Buenas noches friends and family of the Global Glimpse 19, from Yonglin and Anya. Today is day 9 of our 11 day trip, marking the last night at Constanza and our last day of the Community Action Project. As usual we had the daily wake-up call at 7am sharp and our 8 o’clock breakfast , which was pancakes, toast, bananas, and eggs. Yummy. At around 9 we got on the bus and transported to our CAP day 3 location. Today we made a cement floor for Erasmo and his wife, the constructor who was guiding our work for the past 3 days. We worked from 9-12pm and left back to the hotel Dilenia for lunch. For lunch today we had white rice, beef, beans, and for our vegiterians we had broccolli and eggs. After lunch we took the bus back to the CAP project site where we finished the job and got to play with the kids. During the CAP project we all worked smoothly, with people carrying the 100 pound gravel and cement bags up the steep hill, taking turns mixing the cement, and creating a chain to pass the cement buckets to Erasmo to lay it in his home. Completing all 3 CAP projects left us feeling rewarded, impactful and gave us a wider perspective of the world. Once we finished we gave Bernardo, who is the leader of Alegria Inocencia which is the foundation we have been working with, a ‘Big Love’ paper to show our appreciation. After taking a group photo we said our sad goodbyes to the kids, Bernardo and Erasmo and hopped on the bus. We headed back to the hotel where we had free time. Some people got ice cream, and others stayed back to rest and chisme. Once we reunited we had a short reflection meeting of the day, taking time to think back on how we contributed and the impacts our project had. Following a little more free time, where some people played with the grandaughter of the hotel owner-involving barbies and hair brading-we had our burger dinner. The next meeting encompassed a summary of the day, a show of talent from tomorrows’ leaders, and a share of our roses and thorns.
In concusion we are extremeley grateful to have had this opportunity, and hope this was as impactful on the people we made the cement as it was for us.
Lots of love to mom, dad, Declan, the kitties and waffles.

Buenas noches Glimpsers! Happy Friday from San Francisco!
After a week of pouring concrete floors you’re probably happy it’s the weekend. Those sacks look heavy! Hopefully you all get time to rest and enjoy your last day in the DR.
Thank you to all of the team leaders for doing the blogs every night. I really looked forward to these every day. It’s been a lot of fun to follow along on your adventures.
I miss you Aaron. We all miss you. It feels like I haven’t seen you in a long time. I hope that you’ve been having an amazing time. I’m super looking forward to seeing you and hearing all about your trip.
Love, Dad.
ps – I don’t know if there will be another chance to post comments since you’ll be on your way home, so everyone enjoy your last day and we’ll see you in San Francisco!
Peace out
