The Adventure Begins

Yesterday, our group finally arrived after a long and tiring journey. Once everyone had collected their luggage, we headed to our hotel. We enjoyed dinner in our rooms and then got some well-deserved rest after a long day of traveling.

This morning, we woke everyone up at 6:00 a.m. because breakfast was served at 7:00 a.m. After breakfast, we were ready to begin our trip to Turrialba, where our base house is located.

On the way, we stopped at a local fruit market so the students could discover some of Costa Rica’s most traditional tropical fruits and experience a small part of the local culture. Around midday, we arrived at our accommodation and enjoyed a delicious traditional Costa Rican lunch of rice, beans, sweet plantains, chicken, and salad.

During the afternoon, we held several orientation seminars. The students selected the day they would like to be leaders del dia, learned about the house rules, and discussed the importance of being responsible while living and traveling in a country that is not their own.

For dinner, we had a comforting pumpkin soup served with rice and crispy plantain chips. To finish the day, we held our first nightly meeting, where tomorrow’s student leaders explained the schedule and activities planned for the next day.

Everyone is settling in well, and we are excited for the adventures that await us in the days ahead!

Bye from Dani and Memo..
