T1A GGL: Rega Porter!

Hey guys, my name is Rega Porter, and I’m really excited to be part of this experience with you all as a Global Glimpse Leader.

When I was in high school, I actually went on a Global Glimpse trip myself to Estelí, Nicaragua, and it completely changed my perspective. It wasn’t just about traveling—it was about stepping outside my comfort zone, connecting with people, and seeing life in a totally different way. That experience made me more open-minded, more grateful, and honestly it transformed me in the best way.

Now coming back as a leader feels like a full-circle moment, and I’m really excited to help you all experience something that can be just as impactful.

I work in estimating in construction, but I’m also a barber, and that’s really where my passion is. Cutting hair might seem simple, but it can really impact someone’s confidence and how they feel about themselves, and I love being able to do that and connect with people.

Outside of work, I like to stay active, I play pickleball, go to the gym, go on long motorcycle rides, and spend a lot of time hanging out with my friends so, as we get ready for this trip, I want to make sure it’s not just about where we’re going, but also about the memories we create along the way. So, I want you all to send me a few of your favorite songs—I’m going to put together a playlist for our long travels that we can listen to together and look back on as part of this experience.
