¡Hola amigos! ¿Qué lo que? We were the leaders of the day today (Luka and Mauricio). We woke up in a great hotel. It was one of the best nights we’d had in the last five days. We were excited about breakfast, as we were eating right there at the hotel. Most people chose eggs and pancakes, though there were a few brave souls who opted for the fruit cup. After breakfast and some good Dominican coffee, we packed our bags and were ready to head back to the villa.

There was a lot of energy on the bus. We listened to music, played chess and other games, slept, and had fun. The ride was about three hours and we had a quick stop to shop for snacks and drinks. Every time we went up a hill we opened the windows which opened a nice view on the hills and on our way down we closed them for the AC. Levi started rapping alongside Julian, then everyone joined along.

Once we got back we ate lunch. Unfortunately we planned to go to the Deaf school in the afternoon but the plans had changed. We decided to go to the basketball court since we wanted to check it out since our arrival (especially Ayden). At the basketball court, some people played basketball with some locals and others decided either to play volleyball or sit on the side and chat among themselves.

Once we got back from the basketball court we greeted the film crew for PBS who are going to film us for the next three days since our delegation has the 10,000th Global Glimpse Student. We met the CEO (Eliza) and the director of the program (Mark) who were very nice. The film crew started recording during our dinner which was honestly a little uncomfortable being in front of a bunch of cameras and lights but we continued like we always would! After dinner, our nightly meeting went smoothly although we were nervous.

Now we are writing this blog and reflecting on our day. Turns out taking on a leadership role isn’t as bad as it sounds. It was honestly quite fun and a huge part of our Global Glimpse experience which is great! Big love to anyone who’s reading 😉
