DAY 5. CAP 1!
Student Trip Blog
Hola familia!! This is Susana and Sierra here as Líderes Del Día (Leaders of the day.) Today we got the opportunity to visit our Community Action Project site (CAP) at Santa Maria School. We cannot wait to start our volunteer work for the following 3 days!! The plan is to construct and provide the school with an ecological tree nursery. Our visit at the school informed us on major information that we were able to put into our seminar this afternoon. As well as getting to know students at the school we met Kate, a peace corps staff member who has been directly working with the school for the past year. We were also given some time to interact and meet some local students and learnt so much chisme! But we also learnt about their daily lives and the opportunities Santa Maria provides them with, such as their chicken coop, corn field, and aquaculture tank through their agricultural classes.
Our day also included a crazy fun free time afternoon where a majority of students shopped and toured our local plaza. Even after 2 full meals of pancakes, bacon, chicken, rice, and salad we still found ourselves stuffing our faces with Domino´s pizza. We cannot wait to bring home lots of souvenirs and awesome memories!
As our week continues, we find ourselves learning and experiencing new lifestyles every day. We are hit with the heat but also a kind and heartwarming community. LDD today was so much fun and has inspired us both to the max through seeing how much of a responsibility it is to be guiding so many people. How exciting to start your CAP project! How big will this ecological tree nursery be? Please send pictures, I’m curious about the nursery. My first thought when everyone was surrounding that tank: Step Back, it’s gonna jump!
Nothing much happening here, weather is as usual, foggy, some heavy drizzling. This evening we watched a Japan vlog @ the town of Onomichi. Such a picturesque town by the bay. Every alley screams Ghibli for sure, kinda reminds me of Marin but better. It was really relaxing until all the food stuff started to show. The ramen bowls, ohhh and all the matcha milk drinks, I’m for sure going to get a matcha milk snow tomorrow! You hear that Clover? Getting the craves yet? Then we watched Guga smoke a giant tuna and then seared it in its own fat. My mouth is watering like crazy…. Diamond Head General store poke bowl here i come!
Mr president was looking at me with his beady eyes this morning. I told him, yeah I’m not Cover, and Clover will be back soon. Mr P. wants to know where his chew toy is? Love U Clover D, K & M

Awesome sauceee (again idk how to respond *sob*) but glad everyone is having funnn and all that and also getting to learn more of the people of Panama 🤪 , anyways Clover on a super serious note the bracelet you made me BROKE LIKE IM DEVASTATED (specifically the like balls feel off, 4 fell and 3 are still in touch, and the bracelet itself is fine idk do what you will with that info. Also NEW PHIGHTING PHESTIVAL WE GOTTA PLAY IT WHEN YOURE BACK ITS FROM THE 26 TO I DONT REMEMBER AND THE THEME IS TRAGEDY VS COMEDY BOTH VALK AND DOM LOOK SO COOOOLL WE GOTTA CHECK IT OUT AUGHHHHH.
