Hi everyone, my name is Sofia Rios, and I am very excited to get to know all of you during this trip.
This year I will be a senior at Millennium Charter School in Tracy, California. I am so glad I was given the opportunity to join this program. At my school, I have played for the volleyball and soccer teams, and I am part of leadership, where we organize school rallies, dances, and other school activities.
Besides school, I spend most of my time with family and friends. One thing about me is that I am very family-oriented; I am especially close with my three sisters. My nephew is also my pride and joy; he brings me so much laughter, and I love watching him grow.

I enjoy going to concerts, from local to big artists. My first concert was Tyler, the Creator last year, and I got my sisters and me to see Thee Sacred Souls in August. I have a wide range of music taste. I also like going to bailes and jaripeos, though there are not many in my area; if there are, I am there. I also like to travel, which is why I was really excited for this trip. I like to observe and learn about the different lifestyles and cultures.

During this trip, I hope I come out of my shell. I have been working on being more outgoing and independent this year, and I think this trip will be perfect. I am also really excited to see a new country. I have only been to Mexico, and I would love to see another Hispanic culture. I am looking forward to meeting you all and forming new friendships.I hope to come back with many unforgettable memories and experiences!
