Que lo que! (Whats up) This is Jasmin, Lee and Maria the new leaders of the day starting Cap day 1. The day started bright and early with cats fighting, which was a awaking call amongst many Glimpsers. The breakfast was fueling that consistent of various jams (Butter, Peanut Butter, and Jam) to top it on toast, including egg that was nutritious in order to gain energy for our big day ahead. We headed to the communtiy where they welcomed us, and began the project by showing us the necessities and instructions to follow for our Community Action Project. We helped lay concrete floors to homes that had dirt floors. The house that was selected for us to do the cement was a hard worker for his family, and his name is Isreal. In order to lay the floors, splitting into groups, and where some begun shoveling gravel and cement into a big pile that looked like a volcano. After mixing both, we added water to get the thick consistent texture to activate the concrete, at a 20:1 ratio between the solid and liquid mixture. As a team, we worked together to pass buckets of cement to be layed inside the house by a constructor. Before lunch, Glimpsers were able to finish most of the house. We headed back to the hotel for lunch to regain our energy. The delicacy we had was savory meatballs, rice and beans, macaroni salad, and tostones which satisified our appetite. After gaining energy, Glimpsers headed back to the community to finish what we started, and with many hours left to spare as completing the partial part of the project. While the constructor begun to paint the dried parts of the floor. Israel is now able to live in his home with concrete floors. Taking pictures and had a moment to thank the community, for having us before taking off back to the hotel. Since we finished our work earlier than expected, we enjoyed a lot of free time to go to the market to purchase snacks, and clean off before having dinner. The last meal ended with mushy taro, chuleta, combinations of veggies, and simple boiled eggs. During our nightly meeting, we were surpised with all the extraordinary talents, passing the torch to the next leaders, and ending with retirement. A couple days left of our trip, we remind you guys to interact with the blogs and have a good night.
Peace out,
The Three Musketeers!

Wow, Glimpsers! You worked hard & got the job done ahead of schedule! That must feel great to see the results of your hard work. I’m sure Israel appreciated the work you put into the floor of his house. I hope you felt a sense of accomplishment!
Aaron, I love you! I am so excited to hear about all the details of the foods you liked, what you bought at the market, how you spent your free time, and what you saw. Besides cats & cockroaches, I hope you have seen some animals! I really, really hope you are taking photos to capture your memories! Hint, hint!
I’ve missed you & am looking forward to seeing you!
Kazoo is on my lap- he’s not on my jacket but warning me up instead! That’s probably funny to hear given the temperature in the DR is warm & humid but the Sunset right now is cold & foggy. The heater has been turning on!
I hope you all have another productive day tomorrow!
Tyson, I hope you are having fun too!
Love,
Mom

I can see this experience is helping you to develop skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and communication. It’s admirable to see active involvement in making a difference in the community. This service will help you develop empathy and compassion, and volunteering can be challenging, and it’s impressive to see your resilience. Every act of kindness can create positive change. The achievement shows the power of determination and hard work. May GOD guide your path, shield you from any harm, and keep you healthy and safe. Goodnight, love you
