Buenas Glimpsers, me llamo Josue Acosta, I was a Spanish teacher at Amundsen High School for the past 3.5 years but will be teaching at Andrew Carnegie Elementary School this fall, I will be one of your GGLs on our trip to Constanza, República Dominicana!

I am originally from Washington DC, no suburb la capital! I have been teaching for over 10 years from middle school to college, Maryland to Oklahoma, and now in Chicago, but always Spanish. I studied music, Spanish, and history.

I have previously led Global Glimpse trips to Riobamba, Educador and Las Tablas, Panamá and am excited to visit la República Dominicana for the first time with you all. These trips have been just as rewarding and enriching for me as it has been for the Glimpsers, so I encourage you all to dive in!

I love to travel and this June I did my first solo camping road trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks (the picture is from the summit at Signal Mountain); I have also traveled extensively to Spain, El Salvador, and have gone to France, Portugal, Ireland, and Canada. I also play for a rugby team in Chicago, enjoy playing pool and dancing Bachata. Prepare yourselves for Lola and I to get you all dancing (if you want to learn)!

I look forward to meeting you all and helping you navigate the experience, while letting you learn from it on your own.

Saludos,

Josue
