Persevering in panama – cap prep day

Heyyy Y’all it’s Jalyn and Ariel,

We started off our leadership journey by sharing our talents. Jalyn did ballet for as long it took Ariel to solve her rubiks cube!!

For breakfast this morning, we had Pancakes, eggs, fruit, and pinapple juice. It was very delicious!! Next, we traveled to Escuela Santa Ana where we’re going to be spending the next few days for our CAP project. When we first arrived, we had the amazing opportunity to speak with Teresa and Carlos, the President & Facilities manager of the school. We were able to ask Teresa questions about her experience teaching & Carlos about what his hopes were for our CAP days. Teresa shared with us that her dream for Santa Ana is to be known internationally for the work they do! We hope by sharing our experience we can help her achieve that 🙂

We did a walk through of some classrooms where we spoke to some of the teachers and children. They were soo cuteeeeeee! But! specifically when we along with Lisenia, Menorah, Janai, and Alanna were speaking with one of the children, we asked if he had any questions for us and he replied asking us where we lived so we told him we were from the US, and he told us he didn’t think that America was real!! (lol..) A lot of us glimpsers were able to have conversations with the students in both english & spanish!! Some context: Teachers here in Panama have been on strike for two months due to a ongoing issue with the Government regarding their pension. Because of this, today was the first day back for the students & teachers.

Afterwards, we boarded the bus and headed back to the hotel. We had some free time where we hung out and were able to call home! ! Afterwards, we headed up to the conference room where we mapped out the design phase of our CAP project! It was a lot of work, but TOMORROW WILL BE EVEN MORE WORK….

But trust, we are preparing & eating & drinking LOTS OF WATER. don’t worry guys

Can’t forget about MATEOOO everyone should give some encouraging words and prayers wishing he gets better before the end of our trip! Nowww passing the torch to the next leaders Sofiaaaa and Charlotte!!! Good luck yalll

BIG LOVE to everyone @ home!!!!!
