Day 9 – CAP Day 3 (La Final)

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!!!! It is Natalie L. and Natalie M.
Today was a fantastic day. We woke everyone up by singing and knocking on their doors. Then we went to breakfast and had toast, eggs, pineapple which was so delicious we also had cereal. it was so good. Then we had our morning seminar which was about our CAP projects and learning about why we’re doing it and how we pick what we’re going to do. It helped all of us understand the depth of what we’re doing. After that Natalie and I led the mental warm up which we didn’t really know how to do so we tried to wing it. Natalie M. and I had a lot of fun being leaders of the day because we got to be energetic and keep the mood up for everyone else. We then got onto the bus for a 45 minute ride to a local coffee and chocolate factory. On the way we listened to the playlist we all contributed to make. At the factory we learned a lot about the traditions of making these two things and also how helping local businesses keeps traditions alive. The coffee and chocolate were both made from a cacao fruit. We got to taste the cacao seeds which were a weird texture and taste. We also saw that they only used a clay stove with a wood fire. We had lunch at the factory. The family made us a traditional lunch, it was Pork, Chicken, Two kinds of rice, macaroni salad, and casabe, With that we had fresh fruit punch. Everyone loved lunch. After lunch everyone got to swim in the beautiful pool!! We all had so much fun. After swimming we got back on the bus to go to the cirena which is the local grocery store. We got some good things. Once we got home we had a DANCE CLASS!!! We all had to partner up and we did three different dances which were merengue, batchata, and The salsa!!!! I loved dancing and I know everyone else did too! We danced for over and hour. After dancing we had dinner. For dinner we had Burgers, Fries, Rice, and Coke! We had an American dinner for the 4th of July. We’re having our nightly meeting now. Goodnight everyone!
