We’re Laura and Maykeld, the program coordinators(PCs) accompanying our students during this life-changing experience in Panama. We’re thrilled to begin this journey with such an incredible group of young leaders.
Our glimpsers arrived safely at Tocumen International Airport at 7:30 p.m. and traveled together to our hotel, Ojos del Río, in Panama City. After settling in, we shared a delicious welcome dinner and spent time getting to know one another. We also held a brief nightly meeting.
Tomorrow, before heading to our main destination —Las Tablas— we will visit one of Panama’s most iconic landmarks: the Panama Canal.
This blog will serve as the main channel of communication between you and the glimpsers. We encourage you to leave supportive comments at the bottom of each post—they mean a lot to the students as they navigate their learning journey away from home.
Starting tomorrow, our blog entries will be written by the GGLs, and beginning on Day 3, they will be led by the Líder del Día (Leader of the Day)—a daily role that gives students the opportunity to take responsibility, reflect, and guide their peers through the day’s activities.
We’re very excited for the days ahead and grateful to be part of this meaningful journey alongside your students.
With warm wishes,
Laura and Maykeld
