Meet Your Global Glimpse Leader

Hello Global Glimpsers and Families!

My name is Zack Klezmer, one of your Global Glimpse Leaders, and I couldn’t be more excited to embark on this journey to Panama with all of you. Before we get started, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about who I am, what I enjoy in life, and why I’m so thrilled for this experience together.

I’ve been teaching at Freedom High School in Oakley, California for the past six years, and during that time I’ve had the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects, including World Cultures, World History, and Ethnic Studies. I’ve also spent several years as a Leadership teacher, which gave me the chance to work closely with students as they developed their voices, confidence, and ability to make meaningful change in their communities.

Through all of my roles, one thing has remained constant: I truly enjoy working with students—not just in the classroom, but as people who are growing, learning, and discovering their place in the world. Watching students develop leadership skills and take initiative in their communities is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Beyond teaching, I love to travel and learn about different cultures. So far, I’ve been fortunate enough to visit eight different countries and more than half of the states in the U.S. Each place I’ve explored has taught me something new, whether it’s about history, culture, food, or simply seeing life from a different perspective. These experiences have shaped who I am today and deepened my belief in the importance of global understanding.

That’s a big part of why I’m so excited for this trip. While this will be my first time traveling with Global Glimpse, I come into it as a seasoned traveler and an avid learner, ready to expand my horizons right alongside all of you. I am genuinely looking forward to this exciting adventure and everything we will experience in Panama.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be reaching out so I can get to know each of you a little better as we prepare for our trip. I can’t wait to hear your stories, interests, and what you’re most excited (or maybe even nervous) about.
