First CAP Day
Todays leaders were Aidan Byrne, Arnib Sharaf, Raman Alfiarovich.
We started the morning by getting up our fellow glimpsers at 7:00 AM. After doing this we all collected to go to breakfast at the hotel. We were served fresh strawberry juice, lemonade, watermelon, and a sandwich with tomato and cheese.
As soon as breakfast ended, we got our stuff together to go to Los Gajitos which is the community we are doing our Community Action Project . We introduced ourselves to the community and presented our plan of action. We told them that we were going to split into three groups to maximize the effiency. One group bringing up the materials up, one group mixing the sand and concrete, and the other giving buckets the the experts. Shortly after, we realized it would be best to change it up a little, focusing on bringing up the materials and mixing. After bringing up all the materials we started putting the concrete in buckets and gave them to the expert for him to lay out in the house. For the first part of the day we worked from 9:00-12:00.
Then we took a lunch break back at the hotel, which was chicken and rice. After the lunch at about 1:30 we went back to the community for more work. We started working on creating stairs for the home since before it was just a dirt hill to the inside. Miles our program coordinator made a bet with our GGL’s that we couldn’t finish in an hour and 15 minutes. Unfortunately, we finished in an hour and 19 minutes so Miles won his bet!
A bunch of us got to interact with the community by talking to them and getting to know them. Some people even started teaching some of the younger kids english. After we were fully done with our work at Donia’s house, Bernardo (the leader of Fundacion Alegria Inocente) took us around the neighborhood to show us the other two houses that we will be working on.
After all of this we were given freetime, so a lot of us went to the store, bought snacks, and looked around Constanza. After our freetime we had a program seminar, we were tasked with writing letters to our supporters.
Again, thank you everyone for your support to let us all go on this amazing trip.
The menu for dinner was baked ziti pasta and mixed greens salad.
To end the night we had our nighly meeting as usual.
Love you all and thank you for the comments, I will be back soon and miss you all – Aidan

Shout out Amitai … so proud of the young man you have become. It was all you who chose to spend part of your summer break putting yourself out their to experience a different culture, work with and collaborate with a new group of diverse students and put in the manual labor to give back to the community that is hosting you. Recognize and embrace the last few days of this journey. Love you my boy.
Ps. Got plenty of concrete work here on the homestead waiting for your return.
