¡Pura Vida! This is Avery and Radhika coming to you not live from Aquiares, Turrialba <3
Today’s focus was on Aid and Development as our team of Glimpsers learned about how we can responsibly collaborate with the community as the first day of our Community Action Project (CAP) delivery nears. By now, the majority have mastered the art of sleeping through the night and after an intense Jenga game the night before, that couldn’t have been timed better. We started off our morning with an introduction to the design and discovery aspects of our CAP presented by our lovely Project Coordinators, Luz and Memo. During our discussion we explored the perspective of the locals through the lens of a “white savior complex” and how we can avoid having those tendencies. Our group came to the consensus that our goals during delivery are centered around collaboration rather than “help.” For lunch, we enjoyed a small taste of home, hamburgers. Instead of our usual inclination to gather in the living room or swim in the pool, we all spent some much-needed social battery recharge time to ourselves. Many of us read books, took naps, or journaled, leaving the remaining hours of sunlight with a relaxing atmosphere. Just as the rain and thunder began, so did our next seminar. We gathered in the dining room to meet Rodrigo, our guest speaker, who talked to us about how to be environmentally conscious and how to incorporate sustainability into our lives and into our CAP. As today’s Global Glimpse Leaders, we were so proud of the way that everybody has come together so naturally and bonded from conversations from our personal lives and how to become “savvy travelers” (versus tourists). We both enjoyed stepping back into the leadership positions we have back at school, once again, reminding us of home. Speaking of, everyone is SO excited to call home tomorrow. Families, please don’t forget to download WhatsApp if you haven’t already so we can make sure everybody is able to reach home! As for friends and other loved ones, pictures and postcards are upcoming upon our arrival back in the States : )
That’s all from your favorite dynamic duo! Please give a warm welcome to tomorrow’s leaders del dÍa, Kaavya and Daisy, the iconic pair with our favorite laughs ?

Loving the “grounding” aspect of refocusing and redefining terms. Great life lessons, especially for those who will further their careers being stewards for change. This journey is a great reflection of the growth mindset. I continue to be excited! Looking forward to the next adventure. Looks like my baby girl will be one of the group leaders. Go! NeeNee!!

Your interactions in the community and under great leadership, it sounds like you will have a great mindset to start your CAP. We miss you lots, Roman, and we were so happy to talk to you and see your face yesterday!
