Hello Glimpsers and Families!
My name is Brian P. and I am super excited for our upcoming trip to Las Tablas! It was great meeting you all on Zoom, but I am eager to get to the airport and start our journey with Global Glimpse.
I’m honored to lead this group along with my partner Iris, and we’re also looking forward to learning about each of you as we build our community. That starts with blog posts to share a little about who we all are, so we highly encourage you to make your own!

Here’s a little about me. I am an ELA Teacher at Middle College High School in Queens, and the thing I love most about my job is engaging with all kinds of stories. I think they are truly so important, because they help us learn about who we are, and about the many different people around us. I look forward to learning from each of you and from those we meet during our trip, which will be my first with Global Glimpse!
I’ve traveled to several countries and gained so much from those experiences. Now, I feel very fortunate to apply lessons from both teaching and travel to our work together. I always put my best effort into what I do, and I’m excited to support you all as you do the same.
Though I pride myself on hard work, I’m also passionate about many hobbies and interests. If I’m not lost in a book on my ever-expanding reading list, or at the movie theater for a blockbuster or Oscar-hopeful, I’m probably rooting with all my heart to watch the New York Mets win that elusive World Series title. It’s never happened in my lifetime as a fan, but I always remain optimistic. This hope is something I carry with me in every aspect of my life, putting my best self forward and encouraging others to share their strengths and talents with the world. I believe positivity is extremely important, and I promise to uplift each of you as we embark on this trip together!
I know I write a lot (don’t all ELA teachers?) but before I go, I also have to mention my adorable cat Patty (see picture attached). My fiancée and I love animals of all kinds, so I’m hoping to see some wildlife in Panama!

My fellow GGL Iris and I will be reaching out as the trip gets closer, but for now let’s all introduce ourselves on this blog, check off our packing lists (don’t forget your PASSPORT), and get ready for Las Tablas! August 1st will be here before you know it.
Warmly,
Brian
