Let’s Get ready to Travel J1B!

Hey Everyone,

My name is Steven Pozos, I am one of your Global Glimpse Leaders (GGL) that will will be traveling with you. I am excited to get to know each of you during our 11 day journey together.

This will be my first time traveling as a GGL, but I am a former Global Glimpse Alum. Back in 2017 I traveled to Constanza DR. I am super excited to be traveling once again as a GGL and help you all navigate this experience. I am currently a math teacher at Impact Academy and have been in the classroom for the past 4 years. I am also the MECHA Advisor at the school and have worked with Latinx students to create a space for our culture and identity. One of the reason I enjoy working with Global Glimpse is because of the opportunities it provides for First-Gen students. I think its a great chance to begin to think about the larger world we live in and its connections to our own lives.

To give you some context about me, I am a person that likes to just enjoy the world and try to get our of my comfort zone. Anything from trying to new foods to skydiving. I’m a big fan of live music, over the last three years I’ve been to about 50 concerts (I know a bit much). I just like being in community with people and getting to do things in a collective experience. Aside from that I like to spend time with friends either hiking or doing something chill like boba and board games. I like to spend time at the beach with my 7 year old Corgi, named Beau. I’ve traveld to Mexico a couple of times, mainly spending time in Guerrero, as that is where my family is from.

I hope this allows you to have an idea of who you will be traveling with. I am super excited to travel with everyone and get to know you all. I will see you on June 23rd!
