Hello friends and family! Today was our final day in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic.
To finish off, we had our wake up call at the usual 7am, even though most of us woke up at 5:30am to watch the sunrise together, the “official” wake up call was at 7. Afterwards, we had breakfast at 8am which consisted of eggs, orange juice, toast, cocoa puffs, cheese, and hot chocolate. After we had breakfast, we met in the common area and began doing our virtual final survey, our thank you postcards to our Global Glimpse sponsors, we made phone calls, and some of us began writing down our reflection of our journey together in our Global Glimpse notebooks.
After we finished those four activities, we had about an hour of free time before we boarded the bus to head to the waterfall. Once we arrived at the waterfall, most of us got off and took a 30 minute round trip walk while also meeting some extremely cute dogs. After we boarded the bus again from coming back from the waterfall, we drove for about 10-15 minutes back to the heart of Jarabacoa to do our final souvenir shopping, and grabbed a quick bite of ice cream due to how hot we all began to get.
Once we finished going souvenir shopping, we came back to LaSalle, and got dressed to go enjoy 6 pizzas (3 pepperoni, 3 cheese) together. We had such an amazing time with one another, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. After dinner, we came back to the hotel and changed into something way more comfy in order to begin our packing and to prepare for this all nighter.
To wrap it all up, before we all began packing we met outside for a bonfire where we shared laughs, cries, smiles, and our final “big love” circle. We miss you all dearly and we will be home very soon. (Don’t forget us at the airport lol). Also if you guys don’t mind, show a little love to Heriberto in the comments for being an amazing leader (and for buying us paletas whenever we wanted <3).
