Last Day in Costa Rica

This morning we awoke to beautiful weather. For breakfast we had eggs, sausage and gallo pinto. Then the rest of the morning was spent doing our closing seminar. We reflected on our journey from being nominated, traveling and getting here. WE concentrated on 3 points- START, STOP and CONTINUE. WE reflected on how we would like our Global Glimpse spirit to continue. Glimpsers were thoughtful and worked well together to summarize all that they want to do. WE also did a great activity where students got in 2 circles and touched the shoulder of someone who they felt impacted their GG Journey. Finally, we did Big Love and gave positive feedback to each group member and staff.

Lunch consisted of lasagna, salad and tamarindo juice. Left Turrialba at 1:30 to go to do some last minute souvenir shopping and then to our hotel near San Jose.

GGs had a chance to hang out by pool and relax and WE were all very excited to be able to take a HOT shower. Dinner was Tree House, a restaurant near our hotel. We had a choice of fish, grilled chicken, beef, pork or zoodles accompanied by salad, mash potatoes and of course fresh juice. Dessert was a delicious oreo brownie with icecream.

Our nightly meeting was short and sweet because we have a little bit more down time and then need to get our suitcases ready for our 330AM departure for the airport.

We are heading home soon!

Big Love, Mary Ann and Toni

What an amazing experience! I love that you took the time to reflect on your trip and to acknowledge people that had positively impacted your time. I’m sure you will continue to digest and reflect upon your trip after you come home and over the next year. You have all made a difference and had a unique, off-the-beaten-path experience. Giving yourself in service to a cause is powerful and I hope you will carry that spirit forward in life. Wishing you all safe, smooth travels home. Lily, Dad and I can’t WAIT to see you and hear all about your trip!
