After a late night getting settled, we had the luxury of a slow morning today—some extra sleep and a bit of free time to explore what will be our home for the next few days. It gave us the chance to breathe, unpack, and begin to feel grounded in this new place.
Lunch was our first real taste of the Dominican experience: a delicious local meal of rice, beans, stewed chicken, fresh salad, and juicy fruit that hit the spot after our quiet morning.
In the afternoon, we jumped into our first seminar, where we worked together to create our group’s constitution—a set of shared values and commitments that will guide our time here. It was a meaningful way to kick things off.

Then it was time to get to know the city! During our tour, one of the highlights was visiting the local fire station, where the firefighters let some of us slide down the iconic fireman’s pole! We wrapped up the tour with a well-earned stop at a local ice cream shop for some delicious treats to cool off.

Back at our accommodation, the heat of the day called for a refreshing dip in the pool during some free time before dinner. And dinner was special—along with another tasty meal, we celebrated the birthday of Ursula, one of the amazing cooks taking care of us here.

To end the day, we gathered once more for a seminar where everyone chose the day they’ll take on the role of “Leader of the Day.” We wrapped up with our nightly meeting, sharing reflections and setting intentions for what’s ahead.
That’s all for today!
Signing off,
Dani & Pedro
