Hellooo! My name is Karen Peña and I attend Lionel Wilson Prep in Oakland, California. I am a first-generation student here in the U.S. as both of my parents are from Jalisco, Mexico! Some of my hobbies are playing volleyball, going on walks, reading, and playing Roblox & Minecraft. I love listening to music and some of my favorite artists are Lana Del Rey, Dominic Fike, Kevin Kaarl, & Mon Laferte!! I would consider myself to be very outgoing with my friends, although I do tend to be introverted around people I don’t know. However, one of my goals for this summer is to go out of my comfort zone and fully embrace new opportunities!

My intentions with this trip are to make the most out of the experience and discover more about the world. I am open to learning more about the Dominican Republic’s culture and history. During my time there, I want to meet new people and gain a perspective on life that will allow me to become a better person. I genuinely can’t wait to meet you all and share this experience together!
