Kadince McCrary – Glimpser

Hi Everyone! My name is Kadince (Kay-Dense). I’m from Chicago, and I am a senior at Morgan Park High School. I’m very excited about this trip!

A little about me :

I love music with a passion. I love R&B. Some of my favorite artists are Teyana Taylor, H.E.R, Snoh Aalegra, and more. I love movies, especially horror movies. I haven’t found a horror movie that has genuinely scared me, and I am still looking. I dislike having the lights on (in my room). I always prefer the dark or a lamp, rather than a ceiling light.

I enjoy books. I don’t have a specific genre that I enjoy, but I love books by James Patterson, Stephen King, Joyce Magnin, and Christopher Paul Curtis. I also enjoy crocheting! My grandma taught me around 3 years ago.

I love Asian culture, specifically a Japanese dish called “Katsudon”. I don’t eat pork, so I usually get chicken instead. I have a very strong sweet tooth (and luckily I haven’t had a cavity in a few years!), so frosting, cookies, ice cream, banana pudding and more.

Traveling to Japan, Korea, Cancun, and Mississippi has always been on my bucket list and I plan on trying to travel more. Somehow, I am always cold, even when it’s considerably hot,
I still love the heat. I dislike humidity (who doesn’t?) even during heat waves. Whenever I’m in my mom’s car, I always turn the seat warmers on.

Lastly, I love my cousin with my whole heart. We’ve been close since we were babies, and she is my biological soul sister. One last fun fact about me, I used to be allergic to all kinds of berrys!

I am very grateful for this opportunity, so thank you to everyone who got me here and helped me get here. I am excited to see everyone’s introduction and meet you guys!
