JUst the beginning

¡Hola familias!

For just being our first day everyone woke up on time and we shared our first breakfast together. It might not have been our most busiest day but we truly enjoyed ourselves. We were able to explore the beautiful villa in which we were welcomed into yesterday. We took a step into the beautiful community of Constanza and were welcomed with a big smile and greeted by the people of Constanza. We were able to explore the city and met some very important people of the city such as the military which hold a strong role in the community in keeping everyone safe, visited firefighters who help in the daily life of citizens of Constanza, viewed monuments of the founding fathers of Dominican Republic, got to observe a beautiful car with a lot of historical background, had a pool competition among our fellow pears in the villa, got to explore a super market and pick out some interesting snacks that caught our interest, were introduced to our CAP project, and most importantly we all got to know each other and grow bonds.

When we were in either common areas or the bus, it was filed with conversions about even the most random things and most of all laughter. IT WAS TACO TUESDAY (it was delicious). We had our nightly meeting that was full of many people voicing their opinions and what we call big love in which we share something that we loved about someone. It was super nice to see and hear everyone’s leadership skills slowly start to come out and SHINE as they shared their personal perspectives of the day. To end our day we all took a dip in the warm pool that felt so good after feeling the chilly breeze during our meeting.
