Day 10: Closing reflection Day

Hi, my name is Joshua but everyone calls me Josh. I am 17 years old and from the New York area and I am most specifically from Brooklyn(BK on top). I am a Christian and someone who loves to play and watch both football and basketball. When it comes to those 2 topics, I usually know my stuff. I am someone who is of Caribbean descent, specifically from a country that is called Guyana and even though it is in South America it is considered Caribbean. I personally have a deeper voice but I would call myself a very kind/nice person so don’t let the voice fool you. I’m very excited and nervous for the trip at the same time. I’ve never done something like this and it is really stepping out of my comfort zone. I can be soft-spoken at first but once you get to know me I can be a very outgoing person. I am looking forward to getting to know each of the glimpsers on my team and making lasting relationships and being able to help the people of Costa Rica in anyway possible.

It’s been 11 days, and I can confidently say—you are *exactly* who you said you were on Day 1. From the moment you stepped into this experience, I saw your kindness, humility, and quiet strength shine through. You might have started off soft-spoken, but you’ve made a *big* impact in such a short amount of time.
You said this trip was stepping out of your comfort zone, and I just want you to know how proud I am of the way you embraced the challenge. Watching you build relationships with your peers, and show up for the community has been two of the highlights of this journey.
