Hi Global Glimpsers and Families!
My name is Joanne Dumbrigue and I am one of your Global Glimpse Leaders (GGL). This is my first year with Global Glimpse and I am excited to see the world from a different perspective. I am currently a college counselor at Berkeley High School where I’ve worked for the past three years. Altogether, I’ve spent over 28 years in education, including roles in a rural TK-12 school district, a community college and a high school district. Over the years, I’ve worked as a school counselor, an outreach coordinator and a financial aid technician.
I’m originally from Bakersfield, California, and I’m the mother of two adult daughters, Grace (23) and Ariella (32). I also have two grandsons—Arik (13) and DJ (8). In my free time, I love exploring the Bay Area by visiting museums, thrift shopping, and trying new restaurants. I also enjoy crocheting, and many of my family’s Christmas gifts are handmade. While on this trip and during my free time you will probably find me crocheting.
I’m truly excited to take this adventure with you and to learn together about the culture and people of the Dominican Republic.
