Introductions: Amanda Ford (Glimpser)

Hello! My name is Amanda Ford and I am a rising senior at Mountain View High School in the Bay Area. I love writing poetry, hanging out with friends, photography, and swimming! I’m completely deaf in both ears and wear cochlear implants—but that’s never stopped me from getting involved 😉 I’m currently learning ASL, so if you’re interested in learning the alphabet—hit me up!

I chose to pursue this opportunity because I wanted to step beyond what I know. I know that on this trip I’ll have the chance to deepen my understanding of a new culture and build genuine connections with both people and the world around me. I truly believe the most valuable lessons come not just from academics but from real experiences and service. This will also be my first time traveling internationally, so I know I have a lot to learn from this trip!

I’m especially excited to be surrounded by people who I believe are going to be really cool <3

I’m one of Amanda’s Granmas. I couldn’t be more proud of her. She’s Truly Amazing! She’s never let anything stop her from achieving whatever goals she has set. She’s Beautiful inside and out. If you’re lucky enough to meet her, you’re Blessed. I can’t wait to hear all about the wonderful adventures she’ll experience on this trip! Her Grandad & I will be praying for each of you getting to share this trip. God Bless you All. Sending all our Love to you our Precious Amanda
