Hey Glimpsers!
My name is Alex Temple, feel free just to call me “Temple.”
I am a history teacher at West Springfield High School, which is also my alma mater. I got my bachelors at UMass Lowell and my masters at Westfield State. As a kid, I spent my summers on Cape Cod, so I feel at home everywhere in the Bay State!

This is my eleventh year as a teacher, and I’ve taught each grade level from fifth to twelfth in the course of my career before settling in at West Side High. I previously taught in Springfield and South Hadley as well.
I have traveled to Europe a few times, visiting Ireland, France, England, and Scotland. I have led field trips to various historical sites in the Northeast, especially to Washington DC and Gettysburg. This will be my first Global Glimpse trip and my first trip to Latin America, and I could not be more excited! I’ve been reading books about Panamanian history over the last few weeks, and I can’t wait to immerse myself in the culture and people. I believe travel is a great way to widen our perspective and understanding, making the world a better place, one step at a time.
See you soon!
