Introduction: suzy chavez (GGL)

My name is Suzy Chavez, and I’m one of your Global Glimpse Leaders this summer in Constanza, Dominican Republic, in June! I was born and raised in Los Angeles and am of Mexican and Honduran descent. I grew up speaking both English and Spanish. I currently work as a high school counselor at the high school level, and I truly enjoy my career supporting and encouraging students in their growth and goals.

I also have experience traveling internationally with high school students through Education First trips, including Costa Rica, Spain, Italy, and Greece. I love experiencing new cultures, learning through travel, and helping students step outside of their comfort zones to grow in new ways.

Something unique about me is that I have an identical twin sister — and another fun fact is that my boyfriend is also an identical twin! In my free time, I love serving at my church, playing volleyball, being outdoors in nature, and I’m also a big Disney fan.

I am so excited to get to know each of you, experience this journey together, and create meaningful memories in the Dominican Republic this summer!
