Introduction: Scott Dang, Glimpser

Introduction

Hi my name is Scott and I’m excited to be a glimpser this year!

I am a student from San Francisco and am currently a rising senior at George Washington High School. In my free time, I enjoy playing videogames, baking, swimming, and Dragonboat. I’ve been swimming for about 10 years total, however I’ve only been competitively swimming for about 3 years since my freshman year of high school. I’ve also swam at a state level, participating in the 2025 California State championship (I take a lot of pride in swimming). I applied to this global glimpse trip in order to gain leadership experience for future leadership roles I will have in the future, to meet with new people and form lasting lifelong relationships and experiences with those people, and to gain a broader perspective of other places outside of the U.S. by experiencing other cultures foods, traditions, and customs rather than simply reading about them. I am looking forward to enriching the local communities around by giving them my help and to learn about how they live their lives. Additionally, I am really excited to get to know my fellow glimpsers and I hope that we create memories that last a lifetime.
