Hey Everyone,
My name is Sam McCausland, I teach English and Art at The Urban Assembly School for Applied Math and Science in The Bronx, and I’ll be one of the leaders on your trip to Chitre this August. I hope you’ve been having a fulfilling and restful summer break!

I’m 35 years old, I was born in Boston, grew up around New England, but most of my childhood was spent in Vermont. I’ve lived in New York since 2010. I studied creative writing at SUNY Purchase and later got my Masters degree in Secondary English Education from City College. I’m a sculptor and a ceramicist, I love riding my bike around the city, and I’m a twin.
This is my first trip with Global Glimpse and I am really excited because when I was 17 I had a similar opportunity to travel to Costa Rica. That trip was instrumental in shaping how I understand the world today and I am still in contact with the people I traveled with and met along the way. I’m grateful to have the chance for it to come full circle and be a leader that gets to witness this fantastic adventure before you.
We’ll be speaking over the phone before the trip. I look forward to meeting you all in person!
Peace,
Sam
