INTRODUCTION: rICHARD lOPEZ (ggl)

Hello Glimpsers!
My name is Richard Lopez, and I am one of your Global Glimpse Leaders for our upcoming trip to Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a little about who I am before we set off on this exciting adventure together.
I currently live in Bellflower, CA, working in Watts, at Verbum Dei Jesuit High School. As a math teacher for six years, I’m incredibly passionate about creating opportunities for young people to explore the world, step into leadership, and grow through meaningful cross-cultural experiences. I am also the Coordinator for Service and Advocacy at Verb with plenty of student coaching experience through our immersion trips.

When I’m not working, I enjoy playing basketball, chess, spending time with family, reading, and church. I also love hole-in-the-wall restaurants that make you think of “momma’s cooking”.

This will be my first Global Glimpse trip, and I’m truly looking forward to the experience. I’ll be reaching out in the coming weeks to get to know each of you better before we travel. I know this trip will be full of eye-opening moments, personal growth, and a lot of fun—and I’m so grateful to be on this journey with you.
Can’t wait to meet you all!
Warmly,
Mr. Lopez
