Hello Glimpsers!
My name is Meyleen Sierra and I am currently a Spanish teacher at Westfield High School. I will be one of the Global Glimpse Leaders going with you to Panama this August but before I do I wanted to give you all a little bit of information about me.
I have been a Spanish teacher for over 20 years, mostly in the high school setting. I am 51 years old, but 25 at heart : ) and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I was born in Puerto Rico and currently am a resident in Springfield. I have traveled abroad in the past with groups of students primarily to Europe but also took a group of students to Puerto Rico. I have 3 different degrees, mostly in education, and was an assistant principal for a year. I enjoy camping outdoors, swimming in the hot summer months, reading a good book, and traveling to new places.
Over the next week, I will begin to reach out to you to learn a little more about you as well before we leave. This is my first Global Glimpse trip, and am very excited to share in this experience with you! You will gain a new perspective, as you explore a new country, culture, and interact with its people. I hope you are getting excited for your trip, have started to put together some things for your trip. I will contact you soon!
Hasta luego,
Meyleen
