Introduction: Maria Figueroa (GGL)

Hello Global Glimpsers and families,

My name is Maria Figueroa and I have the amazing opportunity of being one of your Global Glimpse Leaders. We have a little over 3 weeks before we go on our Global Glimpse trip to the DR and I am so excited!

Before we meet in person and get to spend 11 days together, I want to share a little bit about myself. I am a Learning Specialist at Noble Street College Prep and primarily teach math. When I am not in the classroom teaching, I am in the kitchen cooking or out and about trying out new restaurants, especially cafes and bakeries. I am also an avid traveler. Over the years I have traveled to many places, such as Guatemala, Costa Rica, South Korea, and Thailand. I believe traveling allows you to not only explore different cultures and communities, but gives you the privilege to explore your identity as well. It is my hope that this trip will give you the opportunity to learn more about yourself.
